Here, the talk is about how the Affordable Care Act will prevent spouses and families of people with serious, often terminal illnesses from having to spend everything they have and sink into poverty, just to be able to cover their health care costs and the medical expenses of caring for a loved one with Cancer, Alzheimer’s or some other disease.
The Affordable Care Act “saves thousands of lives and millions of dollars”, as one of seniors in the ad puts it, with its many new preventive care programs and benefits. Study after study on health reform and the new law that has come to be known as Obamacare show that every dollar spent on preventive care saves many more dollars on the costliest health care of all – caring for people with serious and sometimes terminal illnesses.
