CHAIN Statement on Florida Medicaid Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Aimed at Improving Access to Medical and Dental Care for Children

Florida CHAIN spokesman Kyle Simon released the following statement in response to a Tampa Bay Times editorial addressing a recent class action lawsuit settlement related to children’s health care:

Florida CHAIN commends the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration for reaching a settlement to the litigation initiated on behalf of Florida’s vulnerable children who had limited access to the health services Medicaid is mandated to provide.

The settlement recognizes that the Agency must improve reimbursement for Children’s Medicaid services to ensure that Florida’s low-income children enrolled in Medicaid will have adequate access to quality health care services in the future. We look forward to working alongside state agencies, providers, and consumers to achieve this goal.
